Geography: Ireland is a sovereign state in north-western Europe, which occupies about five-sixths of the island of Ireland. Located in the eastern part of the island, the state shares its only land border with Northern Ireland, which is a part of the United Kingdom.

Weather and Environment

Ireland’s western landscape mostly consists of rugged cliffs, hills and mountains, while the central lowlands are extensively covered with glacial deposits of clay and sand, as well as significant areas of marshland and several lakes. The highest point is Carrauntoohil (1,038 m or 3,406 ft).

Due to a temperate oceanic climate, temperatures are seldom lower than 23°F (−5°C) in winter or higher than 79°F (26°C) in summer. However, the average temperature in Ireland is 50°F (10°C).

During spring, which occurs from the month of February through April, the temperature varies from 46 to 54°F. Contrary to this, the season of summer takes place between May to July, whereby temperatures range from 64 to 68°F.

Major Economies: the Irish economy is mainly dependent on export trade and is heavily reliant on Foreign Direct Investment. Further to this, Ireland has also attracted several multinational corporations due to having such a highly educated workforce and a low corporation tax rate.

High living standards and wages, as well as impressive economic growth, makes Ireland a great country for immigration. Recent studies show that migrants are vital to the wellbeing of Ireland’s society, making immigration all the more beneficial for all parties.
