The DIBP has announced the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) (subclass 189 Visa) for the 2016-2017 programme year. We compared the values with last year’s results, and observed the following findings. First of all, Occupation and Environmental Safety Professionals will not receive any quota this year. Second, the quotas for Computer Network Professionals, Civil Engineering Professionals and social workers etc. are cut this year. Proportionally, migrants specialized in computer network and civil engineering take the biggest blow, as their quotas are cut by nearly a third this year. Please see the Graph 1 below for further details of figures. If you belong to the groups mentioned above, don’t miss the chance and apply for this Visa as soon as possible.
